Girls trip - Charleston

and hello again!

Today I am here to fill you all in on a girls trip I took back in the fall to Charleston SC! We may have been asked 4000 times who the bride was and if we were a bachelorette but crazy enough, it was just 12 girls on a trip! I am a firm believer of girls trips, always have been. They can be so fun, bring us to places we have never been and create memories that will last for a life time 💗. This trip came together incredibly well with the help of SO many people and recommendations and I am happy to pass along this information to anyone else headed down there!

Where we stayed- Market Pavilion Hotel and I can not say enough about it. The rooms were gorgeous, the staff was beyond accommodating and three words, ROOF DECK POOL. We danced, we drank the most delicious mojitos, celebrated with Vueve and soaked up that southern sun. I could have stayed at this pool the entire weekend.

Where we ate & drank -

We were given so many places to try and we only had three days, but it basically seems like every restaurant in Charleston is exceptional. These are a few of the places that the group visited that I would recommend.

Obstinate Daughter - this was located on Sullivans Island, we went here before we headed to the beach. They were so accommodating with our group size and the food and drinks were as great as everyone said.

5 church - I was not leaving the south without getting some southern food and this is where I had a fried chicken sandwich that was incredible. The decor in this place was so cool as well. We stopped here Monday before the airport and it was right near our hotel!

HomeTeam BBQ- I did miss this place but the girls that went loved it. Very casual atmosphere with delicious barbecue.

Uptown Social - We had the best time here Sunday night at their roof deck bar. The band was beyond talented and such a fun place to hear live music. I for sure will head back here when I visit again one day.

What we did (Planned activities) - The day we arrived we had a walking/ food tour scheduled with Walk & Talk CHS. Tyler was an incredible tour guide and everyone had such a great time. We got to learn about so much history as well as see all the sites like Rainbow Row and also indulge in biscuits, drinks and snacks! Everyone felt so comfortable on this trip and Tyler had some incredible knowledge to share with us. We left educated, full and happy!

The second day of our trip, we were headed to the beach. We had rented a car so we were able to use this to drive us from downtown Charleston to the beach towns. Ahead of time I had reached out to Isle of Palm Beach Chair Rental to reserve us beach chairs and an umbrella. As soon as we got to the location they gave us, we found our chairs all set up. I tend to obsess over logistics so this made the beach day that much better. We all had our own chairs and did not have to worry about a thing and we all made sure to pack a beach towel in out suitcase for the trip. We also stopped at the grocery store to pack a cooler for our day.

Something I did on this trip that I never thought I would have done was rented a bike. The day we were headed out a few of us rented bikes and drove around the city. We were able to stop and get coffee, shop and see some of the other things around town that we had not seen yet. We had so much fun doing this and I was so proud of myself after!

Charleston was such a great place for this little trip. We had an itinerary but everyone could also do what they wanted. We ate, drank, shopped, looked for Southern Charm cast, laughed and learned. I found myself going in a little earlier than most (mom life) and I came home feeling so refreshed and ready to be back with my squad at home. I was so thankful for this group and that they allowed me to help plan their trip and I look forward to wherever our next trip takes us. Now tell me, have you been to Charleston and what do you love about it there?

With Love,

Ashley
